As Chair of the East of England Asbestos Patient Support Group charity I’m always conscious that leadership sometimes means stepping outside your comfort zone.
Recently, I had the opportunity to join a podcast with Cancer Support Suffolk, hosted by Mark Murphy MBE, to talk about asbestos-related illness and the vital support available to patients and their families across our region.
These conversations aren’t always easy. Asbestos-related diseases have a profound impact, physically, emotionally and financially. But raising awareness, sharing information and making sure people know they are not alone is at the heart of what we do.
